The Courthouse by Jerry Thomas

Seems it’s time to fly away,

A different place where people stay.

I need some order in my life.

A different point, to arrive.

One day I went to the “Devil’s Courthouse”.

Just to test him for a little bit.

And a fog followed me down.

Lord, I was afraid, too afraid to turn around.

Oh that heat, would drive a man insane.

I had to go Lord, and play this game.

Like a bird set free, from his cage.

I’ll never go,

Lord and tempt his rage.

I’ve learned my lesson, about missing with ghosts.

They’ll come, and make your body a host.

I’m tired of being lost,

It seems at such a cost.

I’m tired of going home.

When I want, to be alone.

One day soon, I will get free.

Lord, I’ll fly away, he will never catch me.

So I’m sitting here, doing his soul shake.

As we watch the fire rising from the lake.

Oh that heat, would drive a man insane.

I had to go Lord, and play this game.

And I know, I’ll never be the same.

But a cool breeze, and a vision came.

Seems it’s time to fly away,

A different place where people stay.

I need some order in my life.

A different point, to arrive.
